Auto body repair & detailing: runs in clear coat, 3m rubbing compound, 3m machine

Question
what is the best way to get runs out of clear coat? I'm learning how to paint and of course this was my first paint job. I have runs in my clear coat and am wondering what is the best way to get rid of the runs. I painted it last night so haven't done anything yet. The base coat is fine. I was doing great on the clear, but I guess I didn't let it sit long enough for the last coat. Please help me.

Answer
You may be able to wet sand them out using 3M 1500 grit wet/dry paper. Try to sand just the run using your finger tips. Then sand with a hard foam sanding block also 3M and try also to stay just on the run area. dont sand too much! Then buff with 3M rubbing compound then polish with 3M machine glaze. If it can't be saved than you have to block sand the whole area and reapply base coat and clear coat to the affected panels. You may get lucky if the runs are not too big.
