Auto body repair & detailing: 96 saturn b pillar, 96 saturn sc2, saturn sc2

Question
Hi Ken,
While having my sons friends car repaired I lent him one of mine. He took it out and ran a red light and was t-boned by a camry.

It is a 96 saturn sc2. The car was hit on the drivers side. The low section in front of the rear wheel and the door took the brunt (from the camry's bumber) of the impact.

I can replace the plastic panels and the door however I am uncertain what to do about the metal damage underneath. The pillar that the door latches onto has been pushed in several inches. That panel was spot welded to a box section that runs from front to the rear of the car. You can see photos @ http://www.saturnfans.com/forums/showthread.php?p=810072#post810072

Can that section be pulled out or should it be cut away and a new piece welded in its place?

Thanxs in advance,
Tony J.

Answer
Took a look at your photos and if you can use a porta power and push it out and beat it with hammers and a dolly block and make it look close to what it looked like before the accident than you don't have to replace it. Better yet if you have acess to a frame machine. I have definetly fixed worse.
