I cnnot open the hood on mt 86 chevy astro,it won't even pop up,what can I do?

Sounds like your cable broke or the latch is sticking. If your cable broke, get a flashlight and look at the latch to locate the operating lever (the ball on the cable end is hooked to it). Using a long screwdriver that'll fit in the grille, pry the lever back to release the hood. If it's just sticking, try smacking the hood while an assistant pulls the lever under the dash. Spray the latch with WD-40 and then oil it so it won't stick again. Good Luck!!
