Auto body repair & detailing: Hood latch release, hood latch, headlight doors

Question
I have a chevy S-10 of which the hood release lever will not work. When I pull on the inside lever the hood will not rise to allow the outside latch to work. What can I do?

Answer
Have someone tap down on the hood while you are pulling the release handle. If the cable is broken you will have to remove the grill and headlight doors [crome] and reach in and take out the ten MM. bolts that hold the catch. open then replace the cable.
