Auto body repair & detailing: door handle repair, auto salvage yard, suzuki esteem

Question
Hello Brian,

My name is John.  I own a 2000 Suzuki Esteem GLX wagon.  The other day, I was getting into my car and when I pulled on the driver's outside door handle, something broke or came loose and the door would not open.  The handle is still attached.  It just won't open the door.  The door can be opened from the inside, however.  I am going to have an independent body shop look at it to determine the problem.  The questions I have for you are:

Do you have an idea as to what the problem might be?

And do you know a good wholesale or discount Suzuki parts dealer where I can purchase the required parts to fix this problem?

I would be most greatful if you could help me.  Please respond at your earliest convience.

Respectfully yours,

John Morris Weaver

Answer
First take the inner door panel off. It will be tricky but you can figure that out. You might have broken the door handle or the rod that goes to the latch either way it will be a simple fix. You might be able to get the whole assemly at your local auto salvage yard cheep Or get the parts from your locall dealer they wont be that expensive. I do not know any discount dealers.

          Good luck with your project
