Auto body repair & detailing: rock chips in paint, buick street, rock chips

Question
I drive a 35 Buick street-rod allmost daily.  My fenders which are painted black, have been getting small rock chips.  What is the best way to fill and repaint the chips.  The body shop is 40 miles away, and the car has to be left there for three days.

Answer
Take a paper match and dab it in unreduced paint and dab it in your rock chips let dry. Then do again untill you have a level build up.  when  wetsand with 2000 grit over chips.use a medium grit hand compound in circles.untill smooth.  Then use a good polish to make glossy.  Hope this helps.
