Auto body repair & detailing: Choosing the right paint, honda transalp motorcycle, dupont paint

Question
I would like to re-spray my Honda Transalp motorcycle this summer.  The tank (metal) is currently pillar-box red and the fairing (plastic) is red/white. I would like to re-spray it a glossy jet black all over.

I have an air-brush which I was thinkling would give me a better finish than aerosol cans and save me having to hire a spray gun and compressor.

Will I need two different types of paint, one for the metal parts and another for the plastic? What paint would you suggest that will thin down to a sprayable viscosity through a air-brush?

After rubbing down with fine wet and dry. Should I use a grey primer or just spray straight onto the exisiting surface which is by the way perfectly sound? I'm just out of love with the red/white combo.

many thanks.

Answer
If you do not break through the paint to bare metal or plastic you willnot have to prime. Unless you fairing is realy flexable you can use the same paint. Dupont paint can be reduced really thin. But using an airbrush is really ganna be a lot of work. Hope this helps
