Auto body repair & detailing: headlamp casing removal, marker lamps, metric bolts

Question
HI - I addressed you folks once before about how to replace the headlamps on a 1992 Chrysler Town & Country Van.  Still having a problem:

Have removed the grill, and the bezels surrounding the turn signal / side marker lamps.

It appears that the only way to replace the headlamp lens is to remove the entire headlamp housing, because the vertical and horizontal adjustment boxes are not accessible.

The gearboxes are attached to the housing, and hold the lens in place with solid bars that protrude outward.  The ends of the bars have a connector with tabbed edges to fit the slotted holes in the lens casing.  It appears that these are inserted into the lens mounting tabs, and are then twisted 90 degrees to lock them in place - the gearbox is then re-attached to the headlamp support housing.

My problem is just how to remove the housing.  There are two Metric bolts holding the housing to the radiator/grill framework on the inside, and that is easy enough.  However, I cannot figure out what is holding the outside -nearest the fender!  The only thing I see looks like some kind of pin that is flush with the housing, and contains a "V" notch in the end.  This looks like it goes into the fender well lip, but I cannot tell for sure because the fender well is closed.  I can't imagine any tool that will fit a v-notch pin, especially when it is flush to the housing.

What is the secret to getting the headlamp housing out of this van?  Your response will be greatly appreciated!

Answer
Hello Del,
You will have to remove the inner fender, which is the plastic shield inside the fender well.  The housing is most likely attached on the back side of the fender.  Look for two nuts or bolts directly behind the housing on the inside of the fender.
Hope we were some help, sure would be nice if it were just 4 bolts in the front.
Best Wishes and Happy New Year.
Thank you,
