Auto Glass: f-150 rear glass, auto glass company, butyl tape

Question
i replaced the rear glass in my 98 f-150 and used a clear silicon adhesive but have a leak on the passenger side, i cleaned the replacement glass very good prior to instalation.  i have put silscon on the outside on all the areas where i thought water could get in but it still leaks.  any ideas why?

Answer
Hi Stephen,

A silicone adhesive won't work.  You have to clean off all the silicone and reinstall it with foam core butyl tape.  You can get the foam core butyl from a local auto glass company.  However, be sure that ALL the silicone is removed before you reinstall it.  If you have any more questions, just let me know.
