Automotive Plastics: little compartment above glove compartment.., compartment lid, toyota sienna

2004 Toyota Sienna, little compartment above glove compartment, the door is
broken off only hinges left.  Can I buy a new door and how to repair it myself.  I
believe the who dash needs to be removed, hope you can help.

Dear Anne,
I am not familiar with the little compartment lid you mention, but I think this is a common case of living (polypropylene) hinges broken, which are not repairable by welding.You may either send a close-up picture to my e-mail for free help or get my plastics repair manual at www.bumper2bumperplasticsrepairmanual.com
Normally you do not have to remove the entire dash to replace these pieces.Hope to hear from you again thanks.
