Auto Parts: VW 1968 Bus - Alternator/Generator, rectifier and diodes, alternator pulley

Question
If i order an alternator to replace my generator, does it come with an alternator pulley?

Answer
Hi Scott,

Typically, yes, but you'd probably want to just re-use the original. There should be no fitness problems from one assembly to the next.

If you are replacing a GENERATOR with an ALTERNATOR, you'll NEED to remove the old voltage regulator as well so you do not burn-out the rectifier and diodes from the new alternator since it already has a regulator built-in and two of them only cause problems.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
