Auto Parts: interchanging a mercedes Diesel 603.960 cylinder head on a 603.961 engine, mercedes 300d, mercedes diesel

Question
I blew the cylinder head on my 1987 300SDL it has a 603.961 engine. I have found a cylinder head from a 1987 300TD which has a 603.960 engine. Everything I can find out says that the cylinder heads are the same. Is this true?  What do I need to do to make the 960 head fit the 961 engine?  any help will be greatly appreciated.
Daniel
