Auto Parts: f-250 front seats, basal skull fracture, f 250

Question
can you tell me if 2005 f250 front seats are designed to collapse during a rear end collision.

Answer
Hi Sandra,

The front seats are part of the structural design of the front-passenger safety system so I'd have to disagree that the seats would collapse in any collision. In a rear-end collision, the headrest and back support are designed to catch your head and neck from being hyper-extended which may cause a basal-skull fracture. If the seat collapsed, it would not be able to offer that support.

Thanks for the question, I hope this information was helpful to you.
