Auto Parts: help 99 dodge ram, dodge ram, oil line

i have a 99 dodge ram v 10 8.0 4x4 with auto trans can not remove the trans oil line went and bought the so called tool at advance can not get it to release any help wold be greatly appreciated

Gotta love those ''quick-disconnect'' lines!

I'm not sure of the style Chrysler was using in '99 but I think it was the nylon-insert type. You need to slide the tool around the end of the terminal and then slide the round end in UNDER the nylon-insert. To disconnect you'll need to push the line, with tool inserted, in towards the trans or cooler depending on which end your working with (there is a rubber O-ring that offers resistance so push firmly) so the tool reaches the clip that holds the line and then you should feel it release.
