Auto Parts: Vapor Box, hyundai elantra, gas milage

Question
I have a 97 Hyundai Elantra. The Vapor box is broken( at least thats what Ive been told it was). How important is this. I have really bad gas milage if thats any help at all. I have called around to parts stores and nobody seems to carry this part. Any suggestions? Thank You in Advance.

As far as I know the vapor recovery has to do with smog testing, so if your state requires smog testing, then it may be pretty important. But at the same time I'm not sure if by vapor box you mean vapor recovery-who told you it was the vapor box and what was the problem that led you to search for that answre? Let me look around and see if I can find that part for you or figure out what it is.
