Car Alarms: viper 130VX autolock, chevy silverado, google search

I just purchesed a 2002 Chevy silverado.  From the factory it has programable door locks that should be easy to reset.  I followed the procedure in the manual and it didn't do anything.  Come to find out there was a VIPER 130VX remote start put on this truck, with the lock unlock button.  

1) is that what is affecting my ability to reprogram the locks.

2) How can I either reprogram the viper unit or... just remove the thing?  

3) Where can I find the schematics for installation/removal of this system
