Car Alarms: Car Key with immobilizer, scion tc, car key

Question
My Scion tc 2005 remote as a chip in it to start the car. It locks and unlocks the car.But it doesn't start the car. Could it be that i replace the battery? Do i need to reprogram it or do i need a new one from the dealer? It cost a lot for a new key and it would be nice if i could get advice on solving my problem.

Sorry, but can not tell from here the trouble.
My best suggestion is to have Scion reset it.
My expertise is in bypassing it for remote starting,
and it does need an IM05 bypass kit to do that, but
only if the system is working. Your's appears
to be in long tamper mode & needs to be seen at
the service dept. for resetting.
