Car Alarms: factory alarm, mitsubishi outlander, silent mode

Question
I own a mitsubishi outlander 2005 with factory alarm system. When I bought the car, the alarm confirmed when it was armed or disarmed with short horn sounds. Now this sound seems not to be working. The rest of the alarm works just fine including the anti-carjaking. The only thing is not working is the signaling chirps from the horn when the system is armed/unarmed. Please advise how to fix this.
Thank you

Answer
CHECK THE SIREN. REPAIR IT IF WATER LOGGED BY DRAINING
AND DRYING IT OUT. OR IT MAY SIMPLY BE BROKEN.
REPLACE AT A LOCAL CAR ALARM STORE FOR UNDER 25.00.

I WOULD FIRST CHECK THE SILENT MODE SETTINGS IF YOUR ALARM
HAS THAT FEATURE. THIS IS USUALLY USED IN CROWDED AREAS SO
YOU WOULD NOT WAKE THE NEIGHBORS, OR PREFER NOT TO INFORM THE
WOULD BE CROOKS THAT YOU HAVE MOBILE SECURITY= SILENT ARMING.

YOU WOULD FIND HOW TO ENABLE AND DISABLE THIS IN
YOUR USERS MANUAL & SINCE ALL ALARMS ARE DIFFERENT,
THAT WOULD BE THE ONLY LIKELY PLACE YOU WOULD FIND
THE PROCEDURE.

GOOD LUCK.
