Car Alarms: 2001 sebring problem, neutral safety switch, sebring lxi

Question
QUESTION: I have a 2001 sebring Lxi. It is a 5 speed manual and I have been having an intermittent problem with the car not starting for some time now. The problem is that I get in and everything is working fine all my lights and radio work great. I put the key in the ignition and depress the clutch but nothing happens at all, not noise no crank no nothing. Usually I have to lie on my back and play with the switch behind the clutch for a few seconds to get it to start. This is some safety switch? Now I have my car in my garage to change a flat tire but we can't get it to start. The normal method is not working and I don't know what else to do?
What is wrong with the car?
What steps can I take to fix the problem?

ANSWER: Easiest answer is also the obvious one.
Replace that switch now with a new part.

You can try a relay bypass to go around it,
but better to get the new part and change it
out to correct the issue and leave the
car in the proper and safe condition.

Try that and see if I'm right.
Any decent parts stor should supply it, or
Chrysler.

QUESTION: I understand that there may be some problem with my Neutral Safety Switch but I do not think replacing it is going to get my car to start. When I depress the switch with my finger I can hear a small click sound like the ignition wants to engage but I think something else is stopping the starter from turning the crank. Does this make sense?

Answer
Allot can be going on here. This car has the smart immobilizer in it
from Dodge, and a noise generation and headlight flashing alarm too.

Hard to say without inspection, but all things being equal,
if "jiggling" the switch eventually allows for the engine to
start, that's the natural spot to start.
