Car Alarms: stupid alarm, flip switch, dodge intrepid

Question
i have a 97 dodge intrepid with an after market alarm thing installed, the alarm was deactivated years ago but recently the battery died and had to be replaced, the alarm is silent but the system is causing blinking lights and preventing me from using the car. my parents keep telling me to find a button that is either impossibly difficult to find, or just does no exist although there is an on off switch down there for something, but it seems to have no effect on the alarm. how can i get the system to let me drive the car?

Answer
Hmmmm,
Make sure you do the procedure correctly.
Might have missed a step:

PUT IGNITION KEY IN IGNITION,
KEY ON TO JUST BEFORE CRANKING THE ENGINE.
PRESS IN AND HOLD VALET SWITCH
UNTIL YOU GET A RESPONCE
FROM THE ALARM.

KEY OFF.

This should toggle the alarm in and out of
valet/override.

If toggle type switch.
KEY ON, FLIP SWITCH, KEY OFF,
START THE CAR.

I hope this solved it for you.
