Car Alarms: VW and clifford alarm, clifford alarm, keyless entry system

Question
I got my Mom a Clifford after market alarm system hoping that it will replace the very expensive and commonly malfunctioning factory keyless entry system on her 2004 VW Beetle. I'm hoping I don't need some crazy interface adapter. Any that you know of or should it just "bolt in"?
