Car Alarms: disabling 97 honda accord factory car alarm, alarmtek, dash area

Question
Hello, I have a 97 Honda Accord with factory car alarm.  It has been going off in the middle of the night for no apparent reason.  I disarm with keyfob, do not even lock my car, and it still goes off... i noticed the other day that my door sensor does not seem to be working properly.  the light on my dash says that my driver's door is open even though it is not.  i can pull the door in tightly until the sensor thinks the door is shut.  i am guessing the 2 problems are related.   what do you think?  i am happy to have my door sensor looked at, but in the meantime, is there a way to disable the car alarm so i do not make my neighbors angry at me for waking them up in the middle of the night... again?

Thank you so much for any help you can offer!

Answer
Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.
