Car Alarms: Alarm for 01 Chevy Blazer, chevy blazer, panic mode

Question
I recently bought an 01 Blazer that has a factory car alarm in it (the remote has lock, unlock, alarm and another button on it). The battery in the remote was dead so I bought a new one. As soon as I put the new battery in, the doors locked and eventually the alarm started going off (I was inside the vehicle). So as soon as I got home, I tried locking and unlocking the vehicle using the remote. Nothing happened. The horn beeped a few times as if it was signaling that the door was locked, but it wasn't because of me pressing the button. Is it a bad remote? Maybe bad wiring? Is there anything I can do to fix this problem?

Answer
Sounds like a bad transmitter stuck in panic mode.
Remove the battery in the remote, then key in drivers door,
turn left to disarm, right to unlock and reset.

Then get a replacement transmitter.

Try www.remotesunlimited.com for that.

Good luck.
