Car Alarms: alarm chip, viper 300, auto reply

Hi, i have a viper 300 esp car alarm, and when i brought my replacement remote to an authorized viper deal they did indeed program it, but it doesn't chirp when alarm is activated and that is a feature i would really like. i followed the directions on the package that it came with and it was ineffective. The siren would chirp and when i held both valet and remote button nothing happened.... any help would be greatly appreciated
