Car Alarms: how to disconnect clifford alarm, clifford alarm, porsche 911

Question
Hi, I recently purchased a 1989 porsche 911 and it came equipped with a clifford 50x alarm.  I suspect the alarm of draining the battery...I've disconnected the ground and put my volt meter between the battery and ground cable and am getting a pretty high drain.  The battery will only stay charged for about 48 hours (I've checked trunk lights, etc. but they're going off when I close the lid).  With the volt meter bridging the cable and battery, I went through all of the fuses and relays one by one to see if I could locate the cause, with the clock fuse being the only one to have any impact albeit a very slight drop in the battery drain when fuse was pulled.  So, I'm thinking that perhaps it's the alarm but I can't figure out how to disconnect it to see.  I took out one of the alarm cables that goes directly to the battery but them the car won't start.  Any ideas?  I'm pretty handy when it comes to cars but have no experience in dealing with alarms.  Also, apparetnly there should be a little toggle switch somewhere on the car to change the code setting, but I can't find it anywhere.
Thanks in advance,
Steve Jackson
