Car Alarms: bypass alarm, door latch, grand cherokee

Question
The door latch on my 95 Grand Cherokee broke some time ago. In order to pass inspection i needed to replace the entire door. At this same time my brother blew the transmition in his jeep. Before it went to the junkyard, I took his door.
Anyways, to make a long story short< when his jeep was taken from him, they took the keys as well!! Before i could get a copy for my new door. Now i cannot disarm the alarm when it goes off. I have figured out how to override it by grounding it out. But have been told that if i permanently ground this purple/yellow wire, that it will drain my battery. If so, what is another way to permanently override the factory alarm? I know i can just put a new lock cylander in the door. But i want something quick and easy.
Thankyou

Answer
Unlikely that grounding that wire would drain any battery.
All it does is terminate the headligh flashing and car
hord honking circuit like the key in the door does,
except it keeps it off while grounded.

No power drain at all.

Try it.
