Car Alarms: audiovox pro 9244 remotes suddenly not working, resident technicians, battery cable


Question
Tonight I set the alarm with the remote in a parking lot and it worked fine.  
When I came out, the remote would not disarm the alarm.  I opened the car
with the key and was eventually able to remember how to switch it into valet,
so I could drive it home.  Once home, I thought the remote battery was dead,
so I got my other remote with a good battery, took it out of valet, and tried to
arm the alarm.  The
other remote didn't work either.  It will neither arm nor disarm the alarm.  I'm
afraid that the alarm is no longer recognizing the remotes, but I have no idea
why.  I have tried reprogramming the remotes (I have the manual), but they
still won't work.  Should I try disconnecting the neg battery cable, or is there
any way I can "master reset" the alarm?  Thank you.

That's hard to say what the problem could
be without first hand inspection. If you
