Small Engines (Lawn Mowers, etc.): sears GT 5000 Garden Tractor, sears craftsman, plug holes

Question
Hello again John and thank you for a quick response.
I stuck a pencil in both cylinders and the pistons did not move. As I tried starting it I can see that the botton pulley which the belt is attached is spinning. Can it be a timing chain? The tractor is a sears craftsman 2003 model GT 5000 with a 25 HP Pro V-Twin engine Model # CV73OS  Serial # 3311501251  OEM Product NO. 185615
Any other suggestions? If it is the timeing belt is this hard to change? and how much will the parts cost? I have rebuilt a car engine before so I do have experience with engines.
Thanks again John for your assistance

Manny

-----Question-----
Hello
I have a 3 year sears GT 5000 garden tractor with a kohler 25 hp engine. My wife was using the tractor to clean up leaves. The engine was running and in neutral as she was applying foot on brake and switching to reverse her foot slipped off brake and engine died. The engine will not restart. I checked out the brake micro-switch its ohms out good. fuse good. spark good. I tried blocking the spark plug port and I am getting no compression on either cylinder. Thought it may be crank but no noises. botton belt flywheel is pinning. Sprayed eather in carburator and in cylinder still nothing. What am I mising?
Please advise

 Hello Manny:

I have a Few Ideas. Send me the Model Numbers, Please. With these I can Locate a Breakdown/IPL and Better Assist you. You can Also go to this Addy http://www.kohlerengines.com/service/manuals/index.jsp and Using the Engine Model Numbers you can Download a Service Manual for the Engine to View Online. The Service Manual is Very Detailed and will Assist you Also. Carefully Place a Pencil into the Spark Plug Holes and Turn the Engine Slowly. Does the Pistons Push Against the Pencil? With the Spark Plugs In, Remove the Belts from the Engine Pulley. Turn the Engine Backwards as Quickly as Possible. Does the Engine Kick Back? The Flywheel Key May have Sheared and the Spark Plug Timing is Off. Im Leaning Towards the Flywheel Key if the Pistons are Moving. Hope this Helps. I am here if you Require more Assistance. Let me know what Happens, Please. Thanks. Be Safe.

 Good Luck

 Respectfully

 John

PS: Merry Christmas and Happy New Year (:-))
