Car Alarms: Car Alarm/ Battery Dead, acura rsx, 2005 acura rsx

Question
I have a 2005 acura rsx that completely died from my leaving my lights on
overnight. I couldnt even use my remote to unlock my doors. So I had to open
my car manually by inserting the key in. So when I tried to jumpstart my car
with another car, an ongoing horn goes off when both jumper cables are in
place. I can't start my car at all now because of it. Is it because the alarm is
preventing it? The alarm I have is the factory one. How would i be able to
disable it? Thank you.

Answer
Sorry about this Ma'am,
but the news here is not good.

This vehicle's transponder (fuel cut off &
horn honking, headlight flashing system)
in the ignition and in the key, was
de programmed when the vehicle lost power.

This is unfortunate and the
security and transponder issue will need
to be reset at the dealership. They have a code
writer that will reset and re sync the system
with the key.

If you have AAA, have it towed there for
this service. Won't take long, but
will cost you a fee. Call the service
writer at the dealership ahead of time for costs.

Wish I had better news, but keep in mind
that the car is sophisticated enough to
provide security from theft, even when the
power is interupted. Good vehicle, bad luck I am
afraid.
