Car Alarms: Viper Alarm woes, viper alarm system, car thieves

Question
QUESTION: I read on your site an identical problem to mine, but the fix didn't work.

Basically, I bought a '94 Acura last summer that had previously had an viper alarm system installed.  I had thought it was completely disabled, but to my chagrin, when I changed the battery last week, the alarm began to sound and would not stop.

I've since cut the wires to the siren, but have not been able to figure out how to overide the ignition overide system.  I tried turning the key and flipping the toggle, as described in many posts, but no joy in affecting any change.

Please help!

ANSWER: Remove it completely, and repair as you go.

Get the proper wire colors, locations and polarities
of the wiring for the Acura at www.WIRINGCHARTS.com
and then remove all the remaining Viper wiring.

That is the only way to be certain it's been
totally extracted.

Good luck.

QUESTION: Is there anything relatively straight forward I can do to get the engine to start in the meantime? Car thieves defeat these things all the time, it can't be rocket science (can it?)?

Answer
Nope. Sorry, not trying to be disagreable,
but not gonna happen. You are simply going
to have to follow through with the removal
unless the valet is operable.

Can't really sugar coat it for you.
Sorry, if it's malfunctioning, remove &
repair or replace.
