Car Alarms: Factory alarm no audible alerts when activation alarm, 2002 honda crv, gas gauge

I have a 2002 Honda CRV EX w/ factory alarm.  The audible sound just stopped working when using remote.  The audible will if the push panic key on remote.  This problem may be affecting the gas gauge functionality also.  Should I take to Honda dealer or just get new system.  What systems do you suggest for my model.  I like ignition cutoff, horn audible, valet function, paging, (remote start???), good range.

There may be something else involved on this.

The troublesome statement about it "affecting the gas gauge"
concerns me, and IS NOT alarm related. It may be
electrical in nature however, and the vehicle
should be inspected for this issue prior to buying
or replacing what you already have.
