Car Alarms: 2000 Chevy Blazer Alarm Randomly goes off, chevy blazer, shock sensor

I have a 2000 Chevy Blazer with a factory alarm system.  The alarm randomly goes off, all lights flashing and horn going off like crazy.  I have the remote for it and I can turn off the alarm from there.  Even when I lock the doors from the door switch without using the remote the alarm will still go off at times.  I was thinking of completely removing the alarm but I would love a reason why this is happening... sick of getting up at 2:30 am to turn it off and pissing everyone off...

I'd take it in for a look see at a local
GM shop. I specialize in after market, and
if this was one, I would tell you to remove
the shock sensor. However, there is no shock
sensor on an OEM "factory" alarm from GM.

Go to the service department and have them
check all contact entry points and the gcharging
system for proper voltage.
