Car Alarms: turning off alarm, alarmtek, acura legend

Question
QUESTION: I have a 94 Acura Legend and the alarm has been going off without notice, or at least I can't figure out why at this point.
Its an old car and I no longer want to use the alarm so I just want it disconnect it and not use it. Is there a simple way to do this ? Is it operated by a fuse?
I appreciate any advice you can give me.

Thanks

ANSWER: Please be more descriptive if possible.

"GOING OFF?"

I need to determine whether it's a factory alarm
issue or, if it's an aftermarket system you are
dealing with.

Is it: Headlights flashing, car horn honking
and a worded SECURITY" light in the dash flashing?
(doubtfull since none of the notes show this
car as having a factory alarm system)=FACTORY

Or,

is it: flashing parking lights,
an LED in the dash area, and a siren
going off?= AFTER MARKET

Let me know more on this to better
advise you on a course of action
to take.

QUESTION: Thank you for your reply
It is a factory installed alarm, as indicated in the owners manual, the headlights flash as well as the horn honks. As far as "going off" I merely wanted to indicate that the alarm was sounding. Sorry for any confusion.

Thank you again

ANSWER: It's likely because of the door pin switches or
contact points in the car, however,
the "factory" alarm depends on current drain.
If the pin switches are going bad or rusting, this can
happen. Also if the power system is dying or going bad,
the "factory" system will react "without notice".

Check the viability of the alternator and check
the battery too.

That's about all I can think of on this one.
It's 15 years old, and over time, and ware...
you know the rest.

Let me know what you discover.

Welcome.

QUESTION: So I take it you don't know how to disconnect it? I am not interested in repairing it. As you said it is a 15 year old car,I only want to get rid of it by cutting off its power supply.

Thank you

Answer
It's not about if I know how.
It's about that this car's
door locks and security are 1 system.
You can not simply ground this wire
or that. If you have a remote, it would be
able to lock and unlock, arm and disarm. Without it,
it's key in the drivers door, turn left,
then right to disarm and unlock.

If your is malfucntioning, the only way to fix it is
to either repair what's causing it to trigger,
or install a keyless entry system that will
allow you do do the same thing.

Sorry your frustraited, but I am simply
offering you free advice. If you find an answer
to this other then my offering, come back and
share.
