Car Alarms: running lights stay on after replacing battery on Subaru w/ Viper Remote starter installed, support inquiry, running lights

Question
after I hooked up the new battery, the amber running lights on the front and rear stay on. The remote works to start the car. I let the engine run for a while to rest the computer but the running lights are still on after I shut down the car. Any suggestions?
