Car Alarms: VW CAR ALARM PROBLEM, vw jetta, vw dealer

Question
I HAVE A 1996 VW JETTA AND THE ALARM IS ARMED AND WONT LET THE CAR TURN ON, I WAS LOOKING THREW PASSED QUESTIONS AND IT STATES THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE THE LOCK CYLINDER OR EVEN THE DOOR HANDLE LOCK, I HAVE REMOVED THE PANNEL AND LOOKED THREW IT BUT DONT REALLY KNOW WHAT AM LOOKING FOR. COULD YOU TELL ME WHAT THEY LOOK LIKE AND WERE I CAN FIND THEM SO I MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX THIS PROBLEM.

Answer
The factory alarm is part of the locking system.
To arm and disarm the alarm, you lock and unlock
them by the remote. If no remote, and the
physical act of key in the drivers door, turn left
then right to unlock/disarm, does not do it,
then you will need to visit your local VW dealer
and get a remote programmed so you can disarm at
will.

There is no "quick" fix on this one I am afraid.

Good luck.
