Car Alarms: 2002 suburban door locks, double whammy, opening doors

Question
Is there a factory setting on GM's when you start/turn off your vehicle that the doors lock/unlock?  If not then I have a Audiovox pursuit 9845. This was put in professionally here in Houston.  Would this be considered passive door locking?  I'm asking b/c w/2 kids opening doors, shutting doors, starting car from passenger side to cool down, I want to be able to lock/unlock the doors myself. Thanks for your help!!

Answer
Double whammy here Corbin,
Both the truck and the alarm come that way
by default. Both look to see the state of the
ignition wire, then lock or unlock, when the
ket is turned on or off.

The only one you can turn off, or change though
is the Audiovox piece. Look under feature
setting/passive-active auto locking, and set to off.

The other however is GM and there nothing I can help
with to change how it operates.

Call the pros who installed it to reset that feature,
and see if it corrects the issues with the kids.

Good luck.
