Car Alarms: sensitive alarm, shock sensor, toyota corolla

Question
We bought a 2nd hand 2000 Toyota Corolla. As far as we know, there is no after sales alarm, just the factory alarm, which is very sensitive. It goes of when someone just walks close to the car, no contact to it whatsoever. How can we adjust the sensitivity? Thanks.

Answer
Nope not factory. This one was added afterwards.

Under the dash is where you will find
the alarm brain and the shock sensor.
The shock sensor seems to be se to high.
Either turn down with the inset wheel to
do so on it (counter clockwise),
or simply unplug it to stop the
falsing you are experiencing.

If you can't do it, take it up to the lock
stereo/car alarm store for inspection, and re
setting.

Good luck.
