Car Alarms: 2000 vw beetle, door locks, negative pulse

Question
The remote was never hooked up to the doors. It only has an aux. button. start button and panic, The door locks are combined with the keys, so I never thought I needed one with that function. I looked for the purple and black wire in the pass. door but I couldn't find one. I was going to put it on the aux. button. I still dont understand why the locks wont work with the factory remote once it is started with the remote start?  thanks again

I installed a remote start, It works great but the door locks will not work when remote has started the vehicle. To unarm the factory alarm you have to unlock the door. If you try the key the alarm will go off. It acts like I am missing an acc. wire or 2nd ignition, All the diagrams I've seen doesn't call for any. Can you help me out? Thanks Arley
-----Answer-----
You are correct, but there is a wire in the passenger
door that is designed to disarm the system for this
eventuality. It is purple/black.
When located, put it to the factory alarm
disarm wire from your remote starter and try
again. It should allow you to unlock the doors
at this point without setting off the alarm.

Just to be sure though, tell me,
what color wires and where
did you catch the door locks?

This might be why it's setting off the alarm as well.

Answer
I think I figured out what's happening here.

The conflict in my estimation, is between the 2 remotes, and since the door lock and unlock are tied in with the arming/disarming of the factory alarm system, this is why the factory alarm is triggered. The alarm is sensing current drain and is in default panic.

The fix?
The remote starter will also have keyless entry outputs. You will need to substitute the factory remote with the aftermarket to control ALL the functions so only the
ONE remote is used. No conflict.

This way, when you go to remote start, it sends a negative pulse to the locks for disarm. If not, then you would need to unlock using the VDUB remote first, then remote start.
Annoying, and may not always do it. I suggest you go into the drivers door and tap the door lock and unlock to be driven by the aftermaket remote starter keyless entry outputs.

Let me know what you end up doing.
