Car Alarms: 2006 Mustang GT convertible alarm, wheels and rims, 2003 bmw 530

Question
I have just ordered a 2006 Mustang GT convertible with the fatory alarm.  I am going to have the head unit from my old car (2003 BMW 530, wrecked), Alpine IVA300, and Nav system Alpine NVE852a, along with new amps, subs, and component speakers installed.  What is the best alarm system and set up that I can get to keep my car, and more importantly really, stereo equipment from being stolen?

I can still have the Ford alarm deleted.

Thanks.

Answer
Hi,
The Ford alarm is a joke. And is standard stuff anyway.
A good thief will circumvent that quickly.
As far as the "best" that's subjective. I know what
I depend on in my own vehicle and in what I sell,
so it is a package that I would tailor to your
particular need, and with the systems I sell here.
Not going to be a Viper or and Alpine product though.
Not a big fan of DEI's and Alpine is just too complez
a system to offer support for. Also hard
to get replacement parts for the ALPINE's in the US.

Starting with exceptional range, and 2 way paging
control/capability, I would also add 2 specific sensors
for this because of the convertable. A 2 stage
interior and exterior motion sensor, and if the
wheels and rims are to be replaced with high end
rubber and trim I would add an electronic tilt
sensor that detects the level of the car when armed,
and would trigger the pager key fob if jacked up more
then 2 degrees. VERY hard to steal that way.

Your car also has an immobilizor (PATS)
system in the ignition column that would
require a bypass module to
remote start the engine (auto trans or manual)

Finally, I like toys n gadgets too. I would opt
for a window roll up and down module add on as well,
to control the function automatically. Just an added
edge, but from the sounds of it, you will be in this
car for awhile. Why not make sure?

Anyhow, that's my take on it. I have 3 combo systems
to suggest for this project. If interested in
them, write to me at INSTALLSUPPORT@AOL.COM and
we'll go over them privately.

Have a good day.
