Steering Column Repair: 2004 siverado steering column, intermediate shaft, siverado

I get a groaning noise when I turn. I had the steering column greased under warrenty-lasted a year or two. problem came back and was greased again but is back again . I would like to do it myself but dont
         know the procedure ---- can you help?

The most common problem with the steering in your vehicle is the intermediate shaft.  Obviously greasing it is only a temporary repair.  The shaft should be replaced and you will feel a definitive change in how it steers (for the better).  It's not a big job to replace if you can handle a wrench.

Here is  picture of the shafts assembly.  Once you open the hood, you can see it and the replacement is self explanatory.
