we were wondering how me go about getting a remote for our factory car alarm ,or is there something after market that we can get to make the exsisting system work...how and what does this factory system moitor.

Answer -
Well, you can go to Mitsubishi directly for they're
replacement transmitter (1) for about 45.00EA. and it
will lock/unlock, panic (sound the horn) and
that's it. Or, you can get a keyless entry with
6 times the range, will flash the parking lights,
toot the horn for confirmation, and provide
2 remotes, plus optional starter kill output. for
approx 40.00 +s&h.
Or,
Move into a good basic car alarm, with starter
kill, keyless entry, siren, shock sensor and
flashing park lights/2 remotes for around 60.00
You can go more expensive with 2 way paging and
remote start, but for your needs, but if it
wer me, and I was a backyard kinda guy,
I would do the Precision 200 with everything needed
in 1 box. Has built in starter kill and shock,
loud siren, just a very complete system for 69.95.
I did one in an Eclipse last week, and it was very
fast, and easy to do.
The girl loved the remotes at 700 feet range too!
Either way you go would beat the 35 foot or less range
of the OEM keyless remotes buy 100's of feet,
and you can do this yourself with the
notes from my Wirewerx, tech support
during the installation.
