Car Alarms: factory alarm, car alarm system, good morning sir

Question
Good morning sir.
Unfortunately the two fixes that you sugested did not work.Actually the second one we could't try because there is no valet switch and the LED is not blinking. When i said factory alarm,i used the dealer,s words, but there is no honking.Only the engine shuts down and the headlights are blinking few minutes after that.Don't know what to do.I'm realy stuck.
If you have another suggestion is more than welcome.Thank you so much for
responding and for your help.

Hi there. My mechanic tried another computer on my Eagle Vision 1995,to see if it is operational, then put my original comp. back, but my car won't start because of the factory installed alarm.Somehow switching the computers activated the alarm wich i didn't even know was there. The engine starts for 2 seconds ,shuts down and the lights are blinking for a few minutes. What can i do?The Dodge dealer could't help me.
thank you in advance...Gab.

Good afternoon Ms. Gab,
I have 2 fixes here. Let's say for
argument sake, that this is the Eagle Vision
OEM Factory car alarm system. This would honk the car's
horn, and would flash the HEADLIGHTS. But would NOT
disable the starter. If this is what you are experiencing.
then locate the lt.green/orange wire in either kick panel,
splice into it, then ground it to the body of the car.

That will take care of that if it's factory.

However, I think it's more likely to be
an aftermarket system, because you can not start
it. This is usually the tell tale sign.

If the alarm has a siren intead of the horn, and
the parking lights are flashing, not the
headlights, try this:

Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area goes on solid, and the siren chirps once.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in opposite direction,
key off.)

This should reset the alarm.

Just Repeat these steps to place it
back to usable armed mode.

That should do it.
If you want to remove it at this point,
take it to your neighborhood installer
for this, or buy the wiring chart for
the vehicle, and reverse engineer it wire
by wire, until it's safely removed.

If it does not work out this way, you will have
to replace the system with one you know how
to operate and what to expect.

Let me know what happens.

Answer
Ok, the radical fix here then is to go into
the drivers kick panel area. Then locate the
FACTORY ALARM DISARM WIRE|lt.green/orange 20ga |-|
splice into it, then ground it to the body of the car.
This will permanantly disable the factory system.

But at this point NO SECURITY exsists, and
you should get a system that adds convenience
and security to your car.

By disabling the Factory alarm, you
will leave the car wide open for theft.

Let's see what you find.
