Car Alarms: Help disengage alarm for good., dash area, starter wire

Question
OK, my son could not get the alarm to go off on his mid-80s firebird.  It is an add-on alarm system by the way.  Since his dad was out of town (ME) he decided to cut the number pad box off at the dashboard, since his remote would not work.  Well, it still would not disengage.  When I got home I charged back up the battery and I tried everything I could think of.  Like unplugging the wires to a small box under the dash, to taking the POS wire off the battery.  The alarm still goes off, the little red light on dash still blinks, and the ignition switch is still dead.  Hopefully there is someway to disengage this alarm system.  Thanks in advance for your help.

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.
If I were you, I would locate the starter kill relay,
and remove it. then re attatch the starter
wire ends back to normal.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.
But I would'nt. Just remove it at this point.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.
