Car Alarms: Car Alarm help, mitsubishi spider, dash area

Question
I just bought a used 2002 mitsubishi spider last night . I came home tonight and it is dark out. I did not even know there is an alarm on the car. I drove it yesterday no problem . I have no idea what kind of alarm is there. I got home and was fumbling around with the door lock and light since I am not familiar with the car. I some how set the alarm off and don't have a clue how to disarm it. I do not have any thing that came with the car now keyless entry nothing. I do not have a clue how it went off. There is a green car showing up in the dash if that helps. I need to go to work at 6am and if I open the door the horn will blow and the lights flash. i can drive it but it took 10 minuete to go off. PLEASE help

Answer
Ok, try this.
Put the key in the ignition, and turn forward
all the way just before cranking. Then within
5 seconds, press and hold in the valet/overide
button, found under the dash area in most cases,
until the installed LED (the blinking light)
in your dash area comes on solid.
(Your valet switch might be the toggle (on/off) type.
in this case, key on, flip switch in oposite direction,
key off.)

This should be valet. This overides
the starter kill relay in the alarm harness,
and returns the car back to disarmed mode.

The only thing that will work now on your system,
is the keyless entry if installed.

Just Repeat these steps to rearm your system.

That should do it.

Let me know what happens.
