Car Stereos: my car radio is make a noice, bose radio, caprice classic

i have a 1991 caprice classic with a bose radio and amp. my car sat for 7 years befor my uncle gave it to me so i got it towed to home town auto and got it fix but the radio when u turn it on it make a hi sqel sound on am r fm so do u now how i can fix that r dose it need a new radio and amp thanks Dan

Hi Daniel,

If the stereo is making a high squeal, the first thing to check is the connections, and to make sure that you don't have a wire touching somewhere it shouldn't.  A little bit of power leakage into a signal can cause squealing.  Make sure the ground and power wires are all connected securely and cleanly.
