Car Stereos: stock amp?, inch woofers, watt amp

Hey brian u answered my question about my 03 altima indash problem turned out it was the ground! So thanks alot but now im wondering is there a stock amp? And if so how can i bypass it i wana put a 1000 watt amp and 2 12 inch woofers hopefully u can help me out

Hi Rudy,

Your Altima will have a factory amp only if it's equipped with the factory Bose package.  If you don't see the Bose logo on the factory radio or the rear speaker grills, then there's no factory amp.  However, even if you do have the factory amp, there's no need to bypass it to add an after-market amp and subwoofer system.  Bypassing a factory amp is done when you want to use a different amplifier or head unit to run the speakers that the factory amp is running.  In your case, you're adding additional speakers (ie, subwoofers) so you'll need to add an amplifier to drive them.  You don't need to do anything with the factory amplifier.
