Hi Bobby,

I'll need to know the vehicle's model year before I can give you a definite answer.  The wire, if present, should be located in the black plug at the back of the head unit; in some model years, it's listed as a black wire.  However, some VW amplified sound systems don't use a remote wire at all; the amplifier turns on automatically when it senses an audio signal.  If you have a multimeter available, you can set it for DC volts and test for the remote wire that way; a remote wire will show DC voltage when the radio is turned on, and no voltage when it's switched off.
