Car Stereos: best amp, watts rms, champion series

Question
I have 2 pioneer champion series 3002 d4 subs that run at 1000rms each i want to run them at a 1ohm load what would be one of the better amps for ths

Answer
Hi Robert,

You might want to consider driving your subs with two separate amplifiers, instead of one.  It's a lot easier finding an amplifier that can deliver 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms than 2000 watts RMS at 1 ohm.  For example, Alpine's MRP-M1000 amplifier should match up perfectly with a single 3002D4, and it's widely available for a pretty good price.

If you want to stick with a single amplifier, Rockford's T1500-1BD would be a pretty good match.  It's only rated for 1500 watts RMS at 1 ohm, but 750 watts per sub should still give you plenty of volume.

Hope this helps!
