Car Stereos: best amp, watts rms, champion series
QuestionI have 2 pioneer champion series 3002 d4 subs that run at 1000rms each i want to run them at a 1ohm load what would be one of the better amps for ths
AnswerHi Robert,
You might want to consider driving your subs with two separate amplifiers, instead of one. It's a lot easier finding an amplifier that can deliver 1000 watts RMS at 2 ohms than 2000 watts RMS at 1 ohm. For example, Alpine's MRP-M1000 amplifier should match up perfectly with a single 3002D4, and it's widely available for a pretty good price.
If you want to stick with a single amplifier, Rockford's T1500-1BD would be a pretty good match. It's only rated for 1500 watts RMS at 1 ohm, but 750 watts per sub should still give you plenty of volume.
Hope this helps!
