Car Stereos: 1999 accord rear speaker problem, stock stereo, rear speakers

hello. the car has the stock stereo/cd player. the rear speakers have stopped working. the wires at the speakers are connected. thats about all i know how to check. any thoughts? thanks for your help, D

Hi Doug,

Check the wires going into the stock stereo.  If they're loose or corroded, they'll need to be replaced.

If they seem OK, get a multimeter, and test the speaker leads going out of the OEM harness for resistance.  They should read about 4 ohms.  If they do, the deck is fried.  If not, then you have a connectivity problem and might need to run fresh speaker wire to them.
