Car Stereos: radio turning on, electrical problem, next morning

I own a 2002 BMW 300xi.  I have recently been having a problem where my radio will turn on for no reason at all.  I tried to turn the radio on without the key in and it would not turn on.  I had to unlock the car, even though the car was unlocked, then the radio would turn on.  When I was done with the radio I turned it off and locked my car.  The next morning the radio was on.  I unlocked the car turned off the radio, went in the house came back out a few minutes later and the radio was on again.  I don't know what is going on with my car!?

It sounds like your factory deck might have an internal short in it.

Some decks turn on automatically when they receive power for the first time -- is it losing any of your presets?  If it is, you probably have an electrical problem which is likely just a loose or corroded wire.  If not, you might be stuck just replacing the deck.
